Kids, come and Shine with confidence at our Spring Adventure holiday programme! Through drama, art, movement and improvisation children will develop their communication, speaking and acting skills. We encourage creativity, artistry and teamwork in this collaborative and fun environment.

spring adventure  -  5 - 10 years  -  remuera, october 9 - 11   

In playful, fun ways children learn oral language, public speaking, acting and social skills, all building their confidence.

Music, dance (rhythm, musicality, balance and co-ordination), dressing up (imagination), story-telling (listening and recounting) and puppet-making capture their attention and develop their ability to confidently express themselves.

Spring Adventure: Monday 9, Tuesday 10 & Wednesday 11 October from 9.00am - 3.00pm

Spring Adventure + CHILD CARE: Monday 9, Tuesday 10 & Wednesday 11 October from 8.30am - 5.00pm

COST:

Spring Adventure (9.00am-3.00pm) $90 per day (your child can join 1, 2 or 3 days)

Spring Adventure + CHILD CARE: (8.30am-5.00pm): $115 per day (your child can join 1, 2 or 3 days)

 

ASPIRING PERFORMERS & SPEAKERS WORKSHOP-  8 - 12 years  -  Victoria Avenue School, Remuera, October 9 - 11

Develop the craft and confidence of a performer from experienced professionals Nina Burchett and Romy Cooper.

Skills to covered include public speaking, voice overs, character development and US and English accents.

Nina Burchett is the Director of Shine Speech & Drama. Nina trained at the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and awarded a Diploma from Toi Whakarri NZ Drama School. She has won numerous awards in film and theatre around the world. Nina loves to witness children thriving in a creative, structured environment and aspires to help develop the unique talents and interests of each child.

At 18, Cherie Knott exhibited solo at the Venice Biennale and now her paintings and sculptures are in collections around the world. She directed the international award-winning children’s short film ‘Gabriel’. Cherie believes all children deserve imaginative, inclusive stories that help them discover the best in themselves and others.

Rhema Sutherland has been working as a speech and drama tutor for SHINE the last 2 years, where she teaches at TAPAC and schools across Auckland. She has graduated from acting training at UCOL, South Seas Film and Television School and The Actors' Program. Rhema has performed at numerous professional theatres across New Zealand including the Fortune Theatre (Dunedin) and Centrepoint Theatre (Palmerston North). She has also worked alongside government departments and agencies (Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Development & ACC) developing and performing in programs designed to educate children and young adults on various health and social issues.
